Kejriwal claimed that a Delhi Police officer, who arrested his former deputy Manish Sisodia as well, also manhandled and misbehaved with him

In his first appearance after the arrest, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal showered praises on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials for their conduct and behaviour towards him. Kejriwal made the remarks on Friday when he was taken to the court.

The AAP supremo, who was arrested from his official residence on Thursday, expressed appreciation for the respectful behaviour of the officials towards him and his family during the interrogation and arrest. However, he expressed discontent for not being able to take blessings from his parents.

“When the Enforcement Directorate came to my residence, I was sitting with my parents. Unfortunately, I could not seek their blessings before they took me away but they behaved respectfully with me. If needed, I will run the Delhi government from jail,” Kejriwal said outside the court premises.

The chief minister also affirmed his dedication to serving the people and thanked his family and supporters for their unwavering support in these difficult times.

Kejriwal Accuses Delhi Police Cop of Manhandling

While Kejriwal appeared content with the treatment received by ED during the proceedings, he claimed that a Delhi Police officer, who arrested his former deputy Manish Sisodia as well, also manhandled and misbehaved with him.

The AAP chief said this in an application filed in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in which he has sought the removal of the officer from his security cordon, NDTV reported.

In his complaint, Kejriwal claimed that Assistant Commissioner of Police AK Singh misbehaved with him while he was being brought to court for his hearing in the remand application, the publication added.

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on Thursday night and his name has been mentioned multiple times in the charge sheets. The agency has alleged that the accused were in touch with the Delhi CM to formulate the excise policy that resulted in undue benefits to them in return for which they paid kickbacks to the AAP.

ED Raids at Another AAP MLA’s House

Another AAP MLA Gulab Singh Yadav’s residence was raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday. However, the probe agency clarified that the raids at Delhi MLA’s house are not currently related to the Excise policy case.
